Biography:

Hello! I am a registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) in California and practice under the supervision of Shannon Vitro, LCSW #74811.

I'm specializing in behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges across diverse healthcare settings; I served as a Behavioral Health Clinician Intern in primary care at San Francisco General Hospital, where I worked with youth and adults, including immigrants and individuals struggling with lifestyle habits such as smoking, alcohol use, substance use, eating disorders, self-harm, complex trauma, chronic diseases, injuries, depression, and anxiety. I applied a holistic lens within a medical model and carefully considered how medication side effects and medical conditions could influence mood and behavior.

I also worked as a school counselor at Notre Dame High School, where I developed a unique program combining pickleball-based play therapy with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for adolescents experiencing depression and anxiety. Many of my students struggled with relationship challenges, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and panic attacks.

In addition, I worked in a residential treatment center with youth and young adults facing severe mental health challenges and substance use disorders. There, I led psychoeducational groups focused on anger management, self-esteem, mindfulness, art therapy, and play therapy.

Since 2014, I have worked as a health coach, supporting individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and age groups in overcoming a wide range of health challenges.

Personal:

I was born and raised in a small town in the Czech Republic. I love international travel and enjoy gaining multicultural experiences. I live what I teach, stay mindfully active, and play competitive pickleball. I also enjoy good food and spending time with those I care about, including my Border Collie, Maggie. :)
